G-Bar is a competitive Market Maker at most of the options exchanges in the U.S. To be successful in these busy markets we have to have fast, solid computer systems. We employ state of the art Unix and NT workstations and servers to provide our traders and risk managers with the real-time information they need. Every floor trader and every risk manager has access to multiple computers and programs to do everything from retrieving market quotes to evaluating complex options positions. Our third and fourth generations of wireless handheld computers enable our floor traders to perform in seconds what used to take minutes in the days of paper-bound trading. Our systems for the upstairs traders and risk managers are constantly monitoring and re-evaluating hundreds of options positions. Technology is the core of everything we do to maintain our leadership position in the markets.

We have a number of fast, accurate, and complex systems that are developed and supported by a talented group of in-house programmer/analysts, systems administrators, and quantitative researchers. These people have the most up-to-date tools to accomplish their jobs whether its research, programming, or support. We have developed, and continue to develop, proprietary tools that have proven themselves better than anything commercially available for equity options trading and risk management. Our core of Sun Solaris servers running an Informix database for position management, Bridge Global Cache real-time price feed, and dozens of our own proprietary servers handle multiple complex functions for traders and risk managers at multiple locations.

The trading side of the business has more than doubled in the last two years and this necessitates that we expand our Information Technology group. Systems professionals work in small groups of programmer/analysts and systems administrators on our future and existing systems. We are able to put the seasoned professional to good work quickly as well as aid new graduates in their professional development. We have multiple openings for C++ programmer/analysts in both the Solaris and NT environment. Experienced Systems Administrators with exposure to both Unix and NT are needed for G-Bar. and a new proprietary group under development.

Successful candidates are people who can think on their feet in a fast moving, constantly changing environment. Everyone at G-Bar is focused on getting the job done quickly and moving on to new challenges. If you are a smart, self-motivated, aggressive team player, G-Bar might be the place for you.
